Overview of the VANTA Analyser

 

Vanta™ handheld XRF analysers provide immediate, on-site elemental measurements of hand specimens, bulk amounts of specimens or rock, mineral or ore veins on site for a range of mining and geochemical applications with flexibility across the entire mineral resource cycle, these include, but are not limited ot the below:

  • Greenfield and brownfield exploration.
  • Ore grade and process control.

Rugged For Use In The Field

Mines, quarrys, working sites and outdoor environments can be tough on electronic devices. Damage to such high end items can be costly and depending on location, can take a long time for repairs. The Vanta analysers are durable for increased uptime and usage and a low cost of ownership.

Every Vanta handheld XRF is IP65 rated to withstand rain, dirt, and dust from effecting the sensitive electronics inside the equipment and are drop tested using U.S. Department of Defense methods (MIL-STD-810G) to help prevent breakages and costly repairs. Though it should be stressed, extreme care should still be taken when using such items anywhere. They can withstand a temperature range of -10 °C to 50 °C (14 °F to 122 °F), so you spend less time waiting for your analyzer to cool, even in hot environments.

Technology and Hardware

Vanta analysers give you the same accurate result every time from your first test to your hundredth test. Thanks to the most modern upto date hardware and software used in its construction. such as the Vanta Series proprietary Axon™ technology which uses ultra-low-noise electronics enabling higher X-ray counts per second for fast, accurate results time after time. This Axon technology is coupled with a new quad-core processor that make Vanta analysers remarkably responsiv and fast to operate, pushing the limits of performance so you get the best results in the least amount of time. Axon technology provides remarkable test-to-test and instrument-to-instrument repeatability, so your first test is the same as your last test no matter what instrument you may use.

Software and Interface

Packed within the Vanta analyser is the most up to date software for use in metalurgy, geo-chemistry and more. Innovative feautres include:

- SmartSort: automatically lengthens or shortens test time based on material to save time; obtain aluminum grade results in as little as 1 second.
- Grade match messaging: real time and/or pop-up messages with familiar trade or grade names or special handling instructions to reduce user training and increase efficiency.
- Nominal value: automatically identifies the likely presence of elements invisible to XRF based on grade specifications.
- Residual library: set a maximum tolerated concentration for residual elements in grade families.
- On-screen grade comparison: compare close grades side-by-side to know which alloy is the best match with nominal and residual values.

The VANTA range also allows users to transfer data wirelessly thanks to an onboard blue tooth connection or utilise the standard wirelss LAN to connect to your network, aswell as upload or transfer data to a cloud service.

On-site labs generally take hours or days to provide results. In some mine-site situations, sending fewer samples to the lab can mean huge cost savings.

Vanta analyzer’s easy-to-use interface can be customized with settings useful for specific sites, users, projects, and applications. Geologists can store multiple sample and matrix-specific calibration models for optimal performance depending on the minerals of interest at a specific site.

With integrated GPS, users can pair results with precise GPS coordinates to document and map the location of elements. Combine XRF data, GPS coordinates, and images from the optional 5-megapixel panoramic camera for inclusive archiving and streamlined reporting.
