Pleistocene Mammals

The Pleistocene epoch is the period which occurred just before the present one, the Holocene, which we currently exist in. It is more commonly known to many as the 'Ice age' although, this period was just a small event within the epoch. It was in this period that many well known animals thrived such as sabre toothed cats, woolly mammoths, sloths, woolly rhinos and more. It was also during this period that the now extinct species of hominid took its first upright steps, Homo Erectus, which continued evolving eventually leading to our selves, modern humans.
