Trilobites

Trilobites are among the most easily recognisable fossils to date. There unique body shape and appearance as well as a lack of any animal that resembles them today, make them an interest to both children and adults alike. The body is divided into three segments, the head, the thorax and the tail. It's length is divided by two parallel furrows. On the head region (glabella) prominent eyes may be seen, studies suggest that trilobites (and their relatives) were the first animals to evolve and develop highly complex compound eyes with lenses, a trait found in modern day arthropods such as insects. Within this section, you can find our extensive range of trilobite fossils from around the world.
