Specimens of the rock anyolite from Mundarara Mine, Arusha Region, Tanzania. Anyolite is a metamorphic rock comprised of the minerals zoisite, pargasite and corundum. The corundum it contains is ruby which contrasts nicely with the light green of the zoisite and the dark green to black of the pargasite. The name anyolite comes from the Maasai word for green (anyoli) and is the preferred name for the rock as opposed to names such as ruby in zoisite or corundum-pargasite zoiste. These samples are a must have for any mineral or rock collection due to their beautiful appearance and interesting constituent minerals. Specimens are supplied in a white card tray or 1.5" x 1.5" magnifier box and come with an information label.
