An exquisite specimen of calcite, chalcopyrite and rhodochrosite from Trepca mine in Stan Terg, Mitovica, Kosovo. This piece features calcite crystals which are both clear and black in colour atop a rhodochrosite and chalcopyrite base. It also has small inclusions of pyrite cubes, sphalerite and pyrrhotite blades leading to a incredible blend of metallic lustres. Nowhere is this more prevalent than on the large nodule on the surface of the piece which is a chalcopyrite/peacock ore globule with a dividing line of pyrrhotite blades running through it. The sample weighs roughly 794 grams and measures approximately 12 x 10 x 5 cm, it is supplied in a 5" x 3.5" white card tray with an information label. This display piece is a must have for any serious mineral collector due to its rarity and its magnificent show of colours and lustres.
