Cybium sp jaw bone fragment collected from the Eocene Bracklesham Beds in Lee on Solent, Hampshire. Cybium is a genus of the Mackerel family of fish. The Bracklesham beds in which these jaw fragments were found are well known among paleontologists and fossil collectors in Britain; they have yielded over 160 different species of fish and the beds continue to be productive today despite having been pillaged by collectors for over 100 years. Naturally these fragmented pieces of jaw bone vary in shape and size but the average fragment measures 30 mm in length. Supplied in small plastic bags with an information label.
