Description

Details

Galena is the primary ore of lead - a sulphide - and usually forms as vibrant-blue veins within country rock. In this specimen it is accompanied by the rare carbonate, Strontianite. Strontiante is a rare carbonate containing strontium, a rare alkaline element discovered in Scotland. These two unique minerals coexist within a rcoky matrix and provide a nice juxtaposition between the metallic galena and duller strotianite.
