Glycymeris variabilisis is a species of bivalve, these fossil specimens, unlike the more well known glycymeris glycymeris are an off white colour as opposed to orange. They lived during the Pliocene period, 5 to 2.5 million years ago. the shells are thin and fragile, growth lines and some ribbing can be clearly seen and they measure around 5 cm in size. The samples will come supplied in a packet with a data label.
