Green aventurine belongs to the quartz family of minerals, its hardness is slightly less than that of pure quartz, at 6.5 on the Moh's scale. The mineral is characterised by the inclusion of platy minerals which give it a glittering appearance when observed from certain light angles. In this case the green colouration is derived from chrome bearing fuschite present in the aventurine specimens. Other colours such as brown, yellow, orange & blue can also occur depending on the mineralogy of the inclusions. These pieces, which have a vibrant chrome green colour come from Brazil and exhibit a crystalline texture, each specimen is supplied in a labelled card tray with sizes of your choosing.
