Lepidolite mica is a lilac coloured mineral of the mica group, which also includes muscovite, biotite, phlogopite and others. As expected of mica minerals, the crystals form in sheets known as a basal cleavage, when the sheets form in large masses, they are sometimes referred to as 'books', due to the sheets appearing similar to the pages of a book. Lepidolite is found in quartz veins, greisens an granite and is an abundant source of lithium, an element well used in modern technology in the present day in mot of our pieces of hand held gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets, cordless power tools and more.
