Specimens of magnetite crystals in matrix of feldspar and smokey quartz from Norway. Magnetite is a major iron ore, evident by it's near black colouration indicating the presence of iron. Magnetite naturally attracts magnets and can also be magnetised to become a magnet itself, naturally magnetic magnetite is referred to as lodestone. These samples of magnetite are supplied in either a white card tray or a plastic magnifier box, they also come with an information label. These pieces would be a perfect addition to any mineral collection.
Specimens in a small mag box measure approximately 2 cm in size and specimens in large mag box are roughly 3 cm in size.
