Magnetite mineral specimens from Norway, a major iron iron, evident by it's near black colouration indicating the presence of iron, these particular samples were collected from disused iron ore mines in Arendal, Aust-Agder, Southern Norway. These old now abandoned, iron mines worked on proterozoic skarn-iron ore deposits. Mining started here around 1574 until the last mines Bråstad Fe Mines, Øyestad, Arendal Iron Mines, Arendal, Aust-Agder which were closed in 1975. It is also one of the most magnetic of the iron minerals, the mineral is black with a metallic lustre, it is also dense as expected. Available in various sizes, the specimens will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
