Amethyst is a popular mineral specimen among many, it belongs to the quartz family of minerals along with other similar species such as citrine, rock crystal and more. Amethyst is mainly sought after because of its economical price yet, deep rich purple colouration, how ever it can also be found in different hues such as a pale purple or even pale pink, the colouration is down to irradiation and iron impurities being present at the time the mineral was forming. These particular specimens of amethyst are a deep purple colour and have a massive crystal structure, meaning that they have not formed as points like amethyst commonly does. Samples are supplied in a white card tray with an information label and are ideal for mineral collectors.
