Natica millepunctata gastropod mollusc collected from Pliocene sediments in Huelva, Spain. Natica millepunctata is a predatory sea snail found mostly on sandy/muddy sea beds but they do also exploit rocky marine environments. Although this specimen dates back 5.3 to 2.6 million years ago; the species still exists today and is commonly found in Mediterranean and North West African seas. This particular specimen measures 25 mm in shell diameter; it has lost its colour but feint dots can be distinguished on the shell surface; a characteristic feature of this species. The fossil is in good condition and is supplied in a small plastic bag with an information label.
