Platylaemus colei dental plate collected from the Eocene, Bracklesham Beds in Lee on Solent, Hampshire. Platylaemus are an extinct genus of bone finned fish. They lived during the Early to Mid Eocene. These particular specimens fell to the sea floor and became incorporated into the marine Bracklesham Beds; a popular geological group among fossil hunters.
