Platyrachella Iowensis Brachiopod fossil, found within the Cedar Valley Limestone Formation in Vinton, Iowa, USA. This mid Devonian, wide winged Spiriferid Brachiopod displays a prominent fold and sulcus which would have been used to separate currents. It also has coarsely ribbed/corrugated valves for protection. This particular specimen is 6 cm wide and 3.5 cm in length and comes in a small plastic bag with an information label attached.
