Crinoid stems from Morocco, showing excellent morphological details, these echinoderms are classified as living fossils, as they still survive to this day, exhibiting the same traits and appearance as they always have millions of years ago. Often found on the ocean floor in deep sea environments, these particular fossil samples were found in Djebel Issoumour, Alnif in Morocco. They are the same age as those found in Lancashire in the UK, the Silurian period, making them over 400 million years old. They are similar in appearance, however, are often narrower in diameter than the UK samples. These pieces are between 30 to 40 mm in length and come supplied in a packet of 5 pieces, in which a small information card is also present.
