Stilbite is a well known mineral and part of the zeolite group, the specimens are easily identified due to their often tabular crystal habit, pink colouration and vitreous lustre which makes the minerals surface appear wet. Its name is derived from the Greek word 'stilbe' meaning lustre and these excellent specimens come from the famous locality of Pune (formally known as Poona), a district in Maharastra, India. today its industrial use is in that of refining petroleum, where it acts as a molecular sieve, enabling it to separate hydrocarbons. We can offer these samples in various sizes and each pieces will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
