Turritella treuspira gastropod mollusc collected from Palaeocene sediments in Catalonia, Spain. Turritella is a genus of marine gastropod mollusc which still lives today. These specimens are in good condition; they exhibit the characteristic turreted shell shape and measure between 3 and 4 cm in length from the base of the aperture to the apex of the shell. In some of these specimens the apex or protoconch may have been lost; this is a common occurrence with elongate turreted shell types. Each specimen is supplied in a small plastic bag with an information label.
