Vanadinite is a vibrant orange coloured mineral which has an hexagonal crystal habit. These specimens which come from Mibladen, Morocco exhibit numerous crystals of various sizes on a baryte matrix. It is a rare mineral which forms during the oxidation of lead ore deposits such as galena, usually in arid environments. The specimen is supplied in a large ( 4 cm x 4 cm ) magnification box to enhance the viewing of the mineral. An interesting addition to any collection both for educational and display purposes, excellent for children ( +9 ) or as gift for mineral enthusiasts and those interested in geology.
