Amazonite is a green variety of microcline feldspar, sometimes known as Amazon stone after the River Amazon (although it is unlikely to occur in that drainage basin) but was first desrcibed there from trading. These specimens from Norway are much less richly hued than the examples from Russia, instead being a pale green almost pale blue colour, but is a beautiful pale green non the less. This mineral was collected from a site in Southern Norway along with the rarer graphic amazonite by staff. We only have very limited amounts of this material and so is only available in two sizes, specimens are supplied in labelled card trays.
