Amberleya subimbricata are a species of gastrpod which come from a well known Ibex zone locality, Blockley quarry in Gloucestershire which is now closed to any collectors. This will result in future specimens becoming increasingly rare ot come by as time goes on. These particular gastropod fossils are often sought after because they show excellent and clear morphological details, even with out the aid of magnification. They are of Jurassic age, particularly the Lower lias, making them between 200 and 180 million years old, clean and free of most matrix, although small occurrences are present, they are excellent for children and especially for educational use, as they clearly show the gastropods spiral shell and have very little damage. Specimens vary between 10 to 30 mm in length and are supplied in a small white card tray with an information label.
