Amethyst is a popular mineral specimen among many, it belongs to the quartz family of minerals along with other similar species such as citrine, rock crystal and more. Amethyst is mainly sought after because of its economical price yet, deep rich purple colouration, how ever it can also be found in different hues such as a pale purple or even pale pink, the colouration is down to irradiation and iron impurities being present at the time the mineral was forming. The name is derived from ancient Greek, ἀ meaning not and méthystos meaning intoxicated as it was believed that the mineral protected its user from drunkenness. Amethyst has long been used as a decorative gemstone for various object such as jewellery, goblets, amulets and more. These amethyst crystal beds which came from Uruguay. These particular specimens are a faded shade of purple and show various forms of crystal points on the bed, they will come supplied in a polythene bag in a weight of up to 1 kilogram which will also include a small information card. Ideal for when bulk quantities are required.

1 kilo of rose quartz mineral specimens. A pink colour variation of the mineral Quartz is a popular mineral specimen due to its vibrant pink colour making it stand out. Ideal for schools, educational and teaching use, specimens supplied are a range of sizes and come in a strong polythene bag by kilo weight, sizes varying between 20 mm to 70 mm. They may also have sharp edges and care is advised when handling the samples.
Blue calcite mineral samples supplied by weight, this blue variation is due to the presence of oxidised copper impurities within the crystals. These particular samples also show the rhombic crystal structure of calcite and can easily be seen with the naked eye. When formed in masses such as these pieces, the samples are known as ‘massive’. This blue calcite is available by weight, starting from 500 grams, and is suitable for lapidary, educational and enthusiasts use. the pieces vary from 20 mm to 100 mm though most pieces will sit in-between and come supplied in a polythene bag with a label.
