Fluorite octahedron crystals from southern Illinois, USA. These mineral specimens are around 7 – 15 mm in size and available in three colours, clear, blue or purple and all are translucent, allowing some light through, giving them a gem quality colour and appearance. These octahedron crystals, while genuine fluorite have been cleaved into these shapes, a practice which has been practiced from some 200 years and still continues to this day with fluorite crystals from China.
