Specimens of analcime from Croft Quarry, Croft, Blaby, Leicestershire, UK. Analcime is a tectosilicate mineral classified as a zeolite, though it has a similar structure to that of feldspathoids. Analcime is often found within the seams and cavities and of igneous rocks which are often associated with zeolite minerals e.g. basalt. These particular specimens are available in two colours, with some specimens displaying the classic white analcime crystals and others displaying crystals with a reddish hue likely caused by the presence of either hematite or goethite. The specimens display beds of trapezohedral crystals, many samples also have small amounts of calcite crystals present. Ideal for British mineral collectors, these specimens are supplied in a white card tray with an information label.
