Aragonite mineral specimens in ‘ sputnik ‘ form collected from Morocco. The name sputnik is derived from the Russian satellite ‘sputnik’; this variety of aragonite have twinned radiating crystals similar in appearance to the Russian satellite. This material is orange in colour and when viewed from certain angles the textbook orthorhombic shape of the crystals can be seen. Each specimen is supplied in a protective gem plastic box which measures approximately 4 x 3 x 3 cm in dimension.
