Specimens of white tabular baryte crystal beds from Cumbria, UK. Baryte occurs in a range of environments and deposited via many processes including biogenic, hydrothermal and evaporation, among others. Commonly occurring in lead-zinc veins. Over 75% of baryte extracted worldwide is used for weighting drilling fluids in oil and gas exploration to control high formation pressures and prevent blowouts. These specimens of baryte display beds of white tabular crystals, ideal for collectors of British mineral specimens. Samples are supplied a white car tray with an information label.

Specimens of pink agate from India. Agate is a common silica mineral and a variety of chalcedony, usually forming within the cavities of volcanic rocks. Agate is comprised of banded fibrous chalcedony, the crystals of which can be quite difficult to see resulting in agates classification as having a cryptocrystalline habit. The banding within the agate is a result of changing translucency within the mineral, these bands may also vary in colour if other minerals are present. These particular specimens of agate have an attractive pale pink colouration with small – moderate amounts of brown agate present. Some specimens may also contain cavities filled with pale pink to white quartz crystals. Samples are supplied in a white card tray with an information label.
Sphalerite mineral specimens from Leadhills, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK. Samples are of the massive form of the zinc sulphide mineral and depicts a dull yet metallic lustre and colouration. The samples are dense and excellent for British mineral collectors. The pieces are supplied in a white card tray with an information label.

Orange calcite is a coloured variation of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate), it has an orange hue to it due to the presence of haematite impurities, these particular specimens exhibit a more crystalline, fine grained crystal texture in which the individual crystals are too fine to be seen, however, the crystal have grown and interlocked with each other to form a large mass, known as ‘massive’. Calcite its self is among the most common mineral found naturally, quite often as mineral deposits but also in many sedimentary rocks, either as a cement or as crystal inclusions, particularly limestone. It is well known for being a fairly soft mineral, easily scratched, coming in at 3 on the Mohs scale of hardness. These particular pieces are suitable for enthusiasts and educational use, both because of the calming blue colour and also the crystal structure and as a means to display the various colours a mineral can be found. Supplied in lots of 1kg, in a heavy duty polythene bag with information label.

Specimens of Chrome Diopside that were collected from the Gusdal Olivine Pit, Åheim, Norway. These samples are best described as chrome bearing diopside. Diopside, a vivid green pyroxene mineral, features streaks of grey chromite that creates a stunning mineral sample that would be the perfect addition to any collection. Whilst many samples of chrome diopside tend to be crystalline in nature, our samples are unique as the feature a grainier, more crumbly texture. These specimens are in limited availability, so we recommend you move fast if you wish to add these stunning specimens to your collection. They are available in a range of sizes and come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
Specimens of chalcopyrite from France. Samples display a very pure chalcopyrite in a quartz matrix and may also show small amounts of peacock ore, this gives the pieces an extremely attractive appearance. Chalcopyrite is a well known copper iron sulphide mineral and also a major copper ore, it has a brassy yellow colour and a metallic lustre, however, overtime, this lustre can dulls as oxidation takes place. This mineral, like many other ore minerals forms through volcanogenic processes often being deposited as sulfide ore deposits, as such it can often be found in ore veins, although it can form by other processes too. Specimens are supplied in a white card tray with an information label, these samples would make an excellent addition to any mineral collection though they could also serve as a educational specimen.
