Blue calcite mineral samples supplied by weight, this blue variation is due to the presence of oxidised copper impurities within the crystals. These particular samples also show the rhombic crystal structure of calcite and can easily be seen with the naked eye. When formed in masses such as these pieces, the samples are known as ‘massive’. This blue calcite is available by weight, starting from 500 grams, and is suitable for lapidary, educational and enthusiasts use. the pieces vary from 20 mm to 100 mm though most pieces will sit in-between and come supplied in a polythene bag with a label.

Blue calcite is a coloured variation of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate), it has a blue hue to it due to oxidised copper impurities, these particular specimens also exhibit a coarse grained crystal texture in which the individual rhombic crystal are visible even with the naked eye. This feature allows you to view the crystal habit but also how the crystals form and interlock with one another into a mass, known as ‘massive’. Calcite its self is among the most common mineral found naturally, quite often as mineral deposits but also in many sedimentary rocks, either as a cement or as crystal inclusions, particularly limestone. Calcite is well known for being a fairly soft mineral, easily scratched, coming in at 3 on the Mohs scale of hardness. These particular pieces are suitable for enthusiasts and educational use, both because of the calming blue colour and also the crystal structure and as a means to display the various colours a mineral can be found. These particular samples come available in weighted packs starting from 500 grams. The pieces vary in size from 20 mm to 100 mm in size and come supplied in a polythene bag with an information label.

Calcite rhombs, excellent mineral specimens supplied by 1 kilogram weight, the samples show a cubic cleavage as expected and vary in colour between white, grey and brown. A very soft mineral, calcite scratches easily and reacts with weak acid by fizzing. It will be supplied in a polythene bag along with an information card.
1 kilo of rose quartz mineral specimens. A pink colour variation of the mineral Quartz is a popular mineral specimen due to its vibrant pink colour making it stand out. Ideal for schools, educational and teaching use, specimens supplied are a range of sizes and come in a strong polythene bag by kilo weight, sizes varying between 20 mm to 70 mm. They may also have sharp edges and care is advised when handling the samples.
1 kilo of Limonite mineral specimens from Australia, a common material in oxidized zones of iron-bearing deposits. Limonite is produced by decomposition of iron minerals, e.g. pyrite etc. These specimens are an earthy brown colour, and some will show banding features. ideal for schools, educational and teaching use.

1 kilogram of chalcedony fragments from lined geodes, collected from Morroco, these mineral specimens exhibit a botryoidal crystal form and a faded blue or white colour. The sizes of the samples vary between 20 mm to 60 mm and come supplied in a polythene bag by weight, ideal where larger quantities may be required for a low cost such as for schools, talks, kits or more.
1 kilo of brown Dolomite mineral specimens from Cumbria, UK. The crystals are often a rhombohedral shape and are on crystal beds which are a pale brown colour. Dolomite is an important sedimentary and metamorphic mineral, found in dolostones and metadolostones, and as an important mineral in limestones and marbles where calcite is the major mineral present.
