Blue calcite mineral samples supplied by weight, this blue variation is due to the presence of oxidised copper impurities within the crystals. These particular samples also show the rhombic crystal structure of calcite and can easily be seen with the naked eye. When formed in masses such as these pieces, the samples are known as ‘massive’. This blue calcite is available by weight, starting from 500 grams, and is suitable for lapidary, educational and enthusiasts use. the pieces vary from 20 mm to 100 mm though most pieces will sit in-between and come supplied in a polythene bag with a label.

Blue calcite is a coloured variation of the mineral calcite (calcium carbonate), it has a blue hue to it due to oxidised copper impurities, these particular specimens also exhibit a coarse grained crystal texture in which the individual rhombic crystal are visible even with the naked eye. This feature allows you to view the crystal habit but also how the crystals form and interlock with one another into a mass, known as ‘massive’. Calcite its self is among the most common mineral found naturally, quite often as mineral deposits but also in many sedimentary rocks, either as a cement or as crystal inclusions, particularly limestone. Calcite is well known for being a fairly soft mineral, easily scratched, coming in at 3 on the Mohs scale of hardness. These particular pieces are suitable for enthusiasts and educational use, both because of the calming blue colour and also the crystal structure and as a means to display the various colours a mineral can be found. These particular samples come available in weighted packs starting from 500 grams. The pieces vary in size from 20 mm to 100 mm in size and come supplied in a polythene bag with an information label.

Specimens of Talc, collected from Egypt. Talc is a common clay mineral that is easily identifiable due to its greasy texture. Talc is extremely soft, with a hardness of just 1 on Mohs scale and is also the primary component in talcum powder. These specimens are pale green in colour. They come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.
Calcite rhombs, excellent mineral specimens supplied by 1 kilogram weight, the samples show a cubic cleavage as expected and vary in colour between white, grey and brown. A very soft mineral, calcite scratches easily and reacts with weak acid by fizzing. It will be supplied in a polythene bag along with an information card.
1 kilo of quartz geode fragments from the Sahara desert, Morocco. The specimens are random single pieces of split geodes lined with the mineral quartz, giving off a sparkling white colour. Ideal for schools, educational and teaching use, specimens supplied are a range of sizes and come in a strong polythene bag by kilo weight along with a data card.
Oligoclase specimens supplied by weight. These particular specimens are rough and unpolished, also containing quartz and come from India, the samples will come supplied in a polythene bag along with an information card, the pieces inside will vary in size between 20 mm to 75 mm, purchasing by weight is ideal for classes, kits or other events where larger quantities are required for a more cost effective price.
250 grams of aragonite sputniks, also known as twinned aragonite crystals, these mineral specimens are roughly 20 mmto 40 mm in size, they exhibit an orange colouration and numerous radiating crystals similar to the Russian satellite, ‘Sputnik’. They come from Morocco are supplied in a polythene bag with a data label, purchasing them by weight is ideal if they are intended for educational use, talks, kits or other events where larger quantities are required for an economical cost.
1 kilo of Carnelian mineral specimens from India. Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony, which is also a variety of quartz. These specimens range from a deep orange/red to a bright orange colour, and show typical waxy texture. Sizes vary between 20 mm to 50 mm and come supplied in a polythene bag with a data label. Ideal for when large quantities are required for an economical cost.
