Carnelian mineral specimens from India, supplied by weight in lots of 1 kilogram, the samples exhibit the typical waxy lustre expected of this mineral, colouration varies slightly piece by piece from a deep red to a bright orange and hues in between. Carnelian its self is a silica mineral, a variety of chalcedony, which in turn is within the quartz family of minerals. It is known to have been used as far back as 1800 BC as a gemstone or decorative stone, likely due to the vibrant orange colouration some pieces exhibit. The colouration comes from iron oxide impurities during formation giving it a rusty red, orange or brown colour. Commonly found in Brazil, India, Serbia and Germany, these particular mineral specimens come from India, they range in size between 20 mm and 50 mm and will come supplied in a polythene bag with an information label.

The samples vary between 20 mm to 50 mm in size and come supplied by weight in a polythene bag with an information label. These contrast of colours between off white baryte and blue galena with a metallic lustre, make for instresting samples to observe. NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD.

Specimens of Chalcopyrite, collected from Morocco. Chalcopyrite is a major copper ore, with a brassy yellow colour and metallic lustre. This lustre dulls over time however as oxidation occurs. These specimens come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.
250 grams of aragonite sputniks, also known as twinned aragonite crystals, these mineral specimens are roughly 20 mmto 40 mm in size, they exhibit an orange colouration and numerous radiating crystals similar to the Russian satellite, ‘Sputnik’. They come from Morocco are supplied in a polythene bag with a data label, purchasing them by weight is ideal if they are intended for educational use, talks, kits or other events where larger quantities are required for an economical cost.
Specimens of Talc, collected from Egypt. Talc is a common clay mineral that is easily identifiable due to its greasy texture. Talc is extremely soft, with a hardness of just 1 on Mohs scale and is also the primary component in talcum powder. These specimens are pale green in colour. They come in a heavy duty polythene bag with pieces of various sizes.
Calcite rhombs, excellent mineral specimens supplied by 1 kilogram weight, the samples show a cubic cleavage as expected and vary in colour between white, grey and brown. A very soft mineral, calcite scratches easily and reacts with weak acid by fizzing. It will be supplied in a polythene bag along with an information card.
