Cleoniceras were a species of ammonite which lived during the later end of the Cretaceous period, between 102 to 110 million years ago, they ranged in size between 40 mm to 100 mm though larger ones have been observed. Their shells formed in a tight spiral towards the centre, giving them a small umbilicus, and gradually got wider further out. They exhibit shallow, smooth ribbing, which later spring in pairs, usually as the animal got older. They covered a range across what is now Europe and Madagascar. These particular fossil specimens come from the Mahajanga Province, Madagascar. Our samples are approximately 30 to 40 mm in diameter. they are brown in colour with an attractive irridescense. Each sample is supplied in a small polythene bag with an information label. Suitable for children over 6 years old, educational use or first time collectors.

Perisphinctes are an extinct species of ammonite which lived during the lower Jurassic period, 163 to 145 million years ago. The animal could grown from anywhere between 10 mm to over a meter in diameter, making them among the largest of the ammonites. Their shells exhibit excellent morphological features such as clear, distinct ribbing and occasionally, well defined ammonitic suture lines, among the near perfect coil shape, it could be said that perisphinctes are the text book ammonite. These specimens are 1.5″ – 2″ in size and come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
