Dactylioceras Athleticum ammonite fossil collected in Schlaifhausen, Germany. This specimen dates back to the Upper Lias or Toarcian Age approximately 174 to 182 Mya during the Jurassic. Dactylioceras is a well known genus of ammonite and is easily identifiable by its ‘finger-like’ ribbing. Its high abundance and widespread geographical distribution, particularly throughout Europe indicates that this was one of the most successful ammonite lineages. This specimen measures 4 cm in diameter, one side is fully exposed while the other still has some matrix attached. Supplied in a small plastic bag with an information label.
