Diaphyodus sauvagei fish teeth collected from Eocene sediments in Abbey Wood, Kent. Diaphyodus is an extinct genus of ray finned fish. The Abbey Wood shell bed in which these teeth were found was laid down in a shallow tropical sea approximately 54 Mya. It contains a mixture of fossil remains from both freshwater and marine organisms and it is particularly famous for its highly abundant fossil shark teeth and shells. These teeth measure approximately 2 mm in diameter and are supplied individually in small plastic bags with an information label.
