Specimens of massive grey dolomite with a somewhat rhombic form from the selåsvatn actinolite occurrence, Aust-Agder, Norway. These samples are most likely a form of ankerite. Dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate it often forms as small rhombohedral crystals, though in this case it has formed as massive rhombs, dolomite has a Moh’s hardness rating of 3.5 – 4 and a white streak.Specimens are supplied in a white card tray with an information label, an interesting variation of dolomite and a must have for any mineral collection. Please note that some specimens may contain small amounts of actinolite and therefore all care must be taken to avoid breaking or disturbing the actinolite.
