Encope Macrophora Sand Dollar of Miocene age, collected from Collier County, Florida, USA. Like most sand dollars, their test (shell) is discoidal, it also has a flat base and the test thickens at its edges. This specimen is well preserved; the petaloid ambulacra can be clearly seen, they are ellipsoidal but not closed. It measures 4.5 cm in diameter and is supplied in a small plastic bag with an information label.
