The Estwing E30 geological hammer is the companies classic design, it is made from a single piece of drop forged American steel with a leather bound handle. The head weighs 22 oz, (624 grams) and features a flat face with a pointed tip on the opposing side. This model is ideal for chipping, extracting and piercing rocks, sediments and minerals to remove or extract wanted material.

The original Estwing geology hammer, the E-30, features a 22oz (624 gram) head, manufactured using Estwing’s patented drop forge method. By forging the entire hammer from a single piece of steel, the E-30 surpasses traditional hammers made from two separate metal pieces, effectively eliminating any weak points and significantly reducing the risk of breakage during rigorous geological work. Moreover, this method significantly reduces impact and shock during use, offering a reliable and durable tool for geologists.
The E-30’s pointed tip makes it an ideal geological hammer for intricate tasks, such as fossil and mineral extraction. On the opposite end of the head, a flat surface provides a sturdy platform for breaking down rocks with ease.
The handle of the Estwing E-30 comes with the classic bound leather grip, lacquered to prevent any unravelling over time.
