The Estwing E3-23LP geological hammer serves as the extended version of the popular E3-22P model. This hammer is manufactured from American steel, using Estwing’s patented drop forge method. By forging the whole hammer from one piece of steel rather than two, it minimises the risk of it breaking. Furthermore, this forging process also enhances the hammer’s ability to absorb impact and shocks, optimising reliability and durability. The flat face of the head proves to be highly effective for crushing and breaking rocks, while the pointed tip on the opposite end excels at splitting, prying, and delicately extracting fossils and crystals when needed.
Distinguishing itself from the E3-22P, this model features a longer handle, measuring 16 inches (40 cm). This added length provides extended reach and delivers increased force with each strike compared to standard models.
All in all, the Estwing E3-23LP geological hammer proves to be an excellent tool that deserves a place in the kit of every professional geologist. Its superior construction and versatile design make it a reliable companion for various geological tasks in the field.
