Estwing E3-24BLC geological hammer is the top end hammer all geologists should have when they are undertaking any field work. It is produced from a single piece of American steel, drop forged for superior strength. The handle is made from Estwings unique anti-shock vinyl coating with it signature blue colouration, ensuring you can view the hammer any where should you accidentally leave it somewhere. The head weighs in at 24 ounces (680 grams), the heaviest of the standard range of geological hammers, giving quite ample force with each strike, yet retaining excellent control with each swing. The head features a flat face which is ideal should you need to break, crush or crack any rock or minerals. On the opposing side, there is a chisel end which you can use to pry, split, chip or cut. With it’s heavier weight than the E3-20BLC, this hammer has the ability to crush more material at a quicker pace than lighter models. Overall, this is an excellent hammer and a must have, highly recommended from our selves, it also features a loop to thread a lanyard through and a protective end cap.
