A display specimen of fluorite with baryte and calcite from Milldam mine, Derbyshire, UK. Fluorite (also known as fluorspar) is a popular mineral specimen for many, children, teachers, collectors etc, it often forms with a cubic crystal habit with the crystals being a variety of colours and sizes from deep rich purples, vibrant greens, calming yellows and sometimes crystal clear. This particular sample displays fluorite cubes of various colours over calcite with some of the cubes displaying purple edging, small amounts of baryte are also present. The specimen weighs approximately 853 g and measures roughly 13.5 x 8 x 6 cm at it’s widest points. The specimen is supplied with an information label and is an ideal piece for any collection of British minerals.
