A display specimen of fluorite cubes over a limestone matrix from Milldam mine, Derbyshire, UK. Fluorite (also known as fluorspar) is a popular mineral specimen for many, children, teachers, collectors etc, it often forms with a cubic crystal habit with the crystals being a variety of colours and sizes from deep rich purples, vibrant greens, calming yellows and sometimes crystal clear. This particular sample displays numerous well formed fluorite cubes, many of which display purple edging. The specimen weighs approximately 1.530 kg and measures roughly 15.5 x 10 x 8 cm at it’s widest points. The specimen is supplied with an information label and would make a fine addition to any British mineral collection.
