Interesting clusters of pyrite crystals arranged in an amalgamated fashion collected from Huancayo in Peru. Crystal faces exhibit striations as is a common feature of pyrite. Pyrite is often given the name ‘ fools gold ‘ because it has a metallic lustre and a pale brass yellow hue which can resemble gold to the untrained eye. The specimen is supplied in a large ( 4 cm x 4 cm ) magnification box to enhance the viewing of the mineral.
