Fulgurites are natural hollow glass tubes formed in quartz rich sand, or silica by lightning strikes.They are formed when lightning strikes the sands surface and penetrates underground, instantaneously melting and fusing the numerous quartz crystals or silica and when they cool, they are a single solid yet hollow piece of fused sand particles. These fulgerite mineral specimens come from Algeria and are available in various sizes from very small with a magnifer box to 2″ and above.
