A variation of gabbro, Troctolite consists of olivine and plagioclase along with small amounts of pyroxene. It is a coarsed grained rock and are supplied in a 2″ x 2″ white card tray.

A variation of gabbro, Troctolite is a mafic intrusive igneous rock consisting of variable amounts of olivine and plagioclase along with small amounts of pyroxene. It is an olivine-rich, pyroxene-depleted form of gabbro which is typically coarse grained. These samples are Mid-Ordovician intrusions and come from the North-east Grampian Highlands of Scotland. Samples are in a 2" x 2" white card tray with a label.
