Galena and Fluorite from Weardale, County Durham, UK. Both are two common minerals which are often found together and form as mineral veins in other rocks as well as in each other. Galena is extremely dense and also fractures extremely easily. This specimen features fluorite with occurrences of bright blue galena veins with a metallic lustre resulting in two contrasting colours of off white and metallic blue which makes it very attractive to many collectors, especially if you concentrate on samples obtained from old working around the British Isles, the piece measures 80 x 40 mm in size and is fairly dense, as expected from galena. It will come supplied in a card tray with an information label.
