Genuine Ichthyosaur vertebrae collected from various Jurassic localities in Southern England. Ichthyosaurs were large marine reptiles which lived during the Mesozoic era, along with the Dinosaurs. Their body shape resembles modern day dolphins and they were once the top aquatic marine predators of their time. We have three specimens available, each from slightly different localities but all exhibit a clear vertebra morphology and have retained moderate detail. Ichthyosaur sp. Oxford – This vertebra was collected from the Jurassic Oxford Clays of Oxford, UK. The bone measures 4.5 cm in diameter.
Ichthyosaur sp. Gloucestershire – This vertebra was found in Lower Lias Jurassic sediments in Gloucestershire, UK. It measures 3 cm in diameter.
Ichthyosaur sp. Dorset – This vertebra measures 2.5 cm in diameter, it was collected from Lower Lias Jurassic sediments in Charmouth, Dorset; a popular sight among fossil collectors.
