Matching sides of an ichthyosaur vertebra from the Jurassic period, found in the Kemmiridgian beds of Abingdon, Oxfordshire, UK. Icthyosaurs thrived in the oceans for most of the Mesozoic, these particular samples from the Kimmeridgian are between 157 to 152 million years old and have been cut and polished from genuine material, which is rough an natural on most sides and exhibits an earthy-brown colouration. The cut and polished sides allows you to view the internal structures of the back bone, which is of great use to geologists and paleontologist, as well as serious fossil collectors, they measure 6 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick, they come supplied with information cards within specimen trays.
