The JPL135 is the ideal microscope for enthusiasts who are interested in observing slides such as those of rocks, mineral, polymers, synthetic materials and small particulates. It has a monocular head which has a 10 x eye piece which goes into 3 optics at 4x, 10x and 40x, giving you a full range of 40X to 400X magnification, ideal for entry level and enthusiast level microscopy.
An excellent and low budget microscope with an array of features to assist you, the JPL135 is a monocular microscope, meaning it only has one view port as opposed to two, it utilises a transmitted illuminated light source and also allows you to view slides under polarised and cross polarised light. Illuminating the slide in a whole new way to enable you to identify minerals easier by how they refract light. The head utilises a 10X eyepiece with a cross hair and 3 DIN achromatic strain-free, objectives which are 4X, 10X and 40X magnification. Those are the basic features,. however, also included is a rotating, centerable stage, a retractable analyser in the head, and for the transmitted light source, a condenser with coarse and fine focus with adjustable tension. All of the features allows the JPL135 to be a smooth, rotating, graduated stage and a set of polarisers that allow observation of all types of transmitted light polarised specimens such as thin sections of minerals, polymers, crystals and particulates. This makes it particular suitable for use by those interested in geology, earth sciences, synthetic materials, gemology and more.
