Description

Lytoceras are an extinct genus of ammonite which are found all over the world but fairly common in Western Europe; the physiology of fossils infer that they were actually fast swimming active carnivores, their shell structure is often not as uniform as other ammonoid species, with growth lines often being described as crinkled. This particular specimen is a one of moderate sized fossil, approximately 10 cm in length, it will make a suitable addition to many fossil collections.
