Magnetite mineral specimens from Norway, a major iron iron, evident by it’s near black colouration indicating the presence of iron, these particular samples were collected from disused iron ore mines in Arendal, Aust-Agder, Southern Norway. These old now abandoned, iron mines worked on proterozoic skarn-iron ore deposits. Mining started here around 1574 until the last mines Bråstad Fe Mines, Øyestad, Arendal Iron Mines, Arendal, Aust-Agder which were closed in 1975. It is also one of the most magnetic of the iron minerals, the mineral is black with a metallic lustre, it is also dense as expected.

The rock crystal mineral specimens are a clear form of quartz, they show a conchoidal fracture when observed closely and are ideal for schools, educational and teaching use, specimens supplied are a range of sizes and come in a strong polythene bag by kilo weight..
1 kilogram of rock crystal points and bodies (fragments) from Morocco, transparent with inclusions, this B grade material varies in size between 20 mm to 100 mm, also known as quartz points, they are excellent value for money where large quantities may be required such as for crafts, educational use, kits or more. Supplied in a polythene bag with a label.
Calcite rhombs, excellent mineral specimens supplied by 1 kilogram weight, the samples show a cubic cleavage as expected and vary in colour between white, grey and brown. A very soft mineral, calcite scratches easily and reacts with weak acid by fizzing. It will be supplied in a polythene bag along with an information card.
The mineral size ranges from approx 1cm in size down to fine grains. Supplied in a thick, sealed polythene bag with label containing 250 grams.
