The Mohs scale of hardness set comes with 9 common mineral specimens associated with the ‘Mohs Scale of Hardness’. The set is suitable for geology students of all education levels; school, college and university.
The Mohs scale of hardness details the hardness and strength of 10 minerals starting from soft minerals such as Talc through to very hard specimens such as Diamond which cannot be scratched with any other matter aside from another diamond. Understanding a minerals hardness can be particularly important in the field when having to identify different minerals of similar appearances. The set is suitable for geology students of all education levels; school, college and university. Each mineral is housed within its own plastic compartment which correlates to a photo data sheet attached to the inside of the lid. Specimens included are:
